A Good Background Investigation Is Important

As a renter of over 23 properties I can tell you that the traditional way of doing a back ground check on potential tenets is in my opinion out dated and obsolete. I have on several occasions rented to persons, who if I would have had a better way of doing the back ground check on. I would not have rented to at all.

As technology progresses there have been made available to the public better means of doing back ground checks that have saved me thousands of dollars. Not to mention the hassles of having to deal with irresponsible tenets who cause me nothing but grief.

Let me tell you of on instance that accrued two summers ago with one of my tenets, who I did run a basic back ground check on. That showed me nothing of suspicion that would make me think that I shouldnt rent to this individual. Okay So I did every thing rite I thought. And the back ground check I did was okay so I went ahead and rented to this person. Not fully aware of his past. Everything was fine for the first nine months this person paid his rent on time, so I was happy with that. Then one Saturday evening I got a knock on my door. I opened the door their where two police officers standing on my porch.

I asked them if I could help them. They then asked me if I was the owner of one of my units that I rent out. I replied to them, that yes I was. They then asked me if I could come with them. I asked what this is all about. They then told me that the tenet I was renting to had a marihuana farm growing in my rental unit. Believe me I was stunned. Here they thought that I may have had some kind of a relationship with this tenet. That part turned out ok. But the person I was renting to totally destroyed this unit. He had the walls torn down, and the plumbing all rerouted. It was a total wreck. After around sixteen thousand dollars and a lot of time I got the place back in shape to rent again.

It turns out after this all happened the police told me that this person had a history of this and other things. I didnt know that because the basic back ground checks that I conducted at the time didnt have access to this kind of information on my potential tenets.

Now I run A very thorough back ground check on my tenets. There are really only two ways to get a thorough back ground check on a person. One you can hirer an investigator that can be very costly and timely. Or you can find the information through one of the online companies for a one time fee. No matter the way you get the information needed to save you the cost and grief. I recommend you just get it.
