Maintain a Healthy Routine

It can be hard to keep yourself in a routine that keeps you healthy. The inclination can be to latch onto patterns that might be self-destructive (even if they don't appear to be at first glance). Setting patterns based things such as on television shows might prevent you from doing work that you need to do. You need to instead set patterns that get you doing things at certain times. Your patterns also need to be flexible enough that you feel okay breaking a schedule to make time for something important - to make time for meetings or work that you need to do.

Routines can be helpful, especially for times when you are at home for extended periods. That said, sometimes, people can end up in dangerous routines. Routines can provide structure, but routines that keep you isolated, or up at all hours and then sleeping far into the day can cause more problems than solve any. Structure is important, but the ability to function even moreso.

In order to maintain a healthy routine, set a daily time to wake up and go to bed. Set time for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Make time for exercise daily, from classes to workouts at the gym or even just a walk. Finally, make sure that you have time in your routine where you take your pills at the same time. That way the effects will not wear off as quickly and you will be able to maintain the brain chemistry that you need.

Routines have the potential to cause harm, but they can also be very effective at helping you to manage your life in a productive way while you get better. They should not be dismissed as irrelevant, but they should not be accepted blindly either.
